Da casa da strega a casa da favola? //[Ita-Eng]// A witched house turned fairytale?

"Mamma, in questa casa vivono le streghe?". Cosi' i miei nipotini domandavano a mia cognata quando videro la casa che avevamo comprato. Tutti ridemmo, riconoscendo che aveva davvero l'aspetto di una casa da streghe.
Ma quando videro la facciata ristrutturata, dissero a mia moglie: "Zia, sembra la casa di una favola".

"Mum, does a witch live in this house?". This is how my little nephews asked their mum (my sister-in-law) when they saw the house we bought. Everybody laught, acknowledging that the house looked like a witched one.
When they saw the facade renovated, though, they told my wife: "Aunt, it looks like a fairytale house".

Cari amici di Steemit, dopo avervi raccontato negli ultimi due articoli dell'acquisto e della ristrutturazione della nostra casa, finalmente oggi vi posso far vedere come e' cambiata la facciata. Non so se siete d'accordo se l'aspetto sia quello di una casa da favola, pero' sicuramente e' abbastanza speciale. E' un esempio della architettura antica di Valparaiso che ha portato l'Unesco a inserire questa citta' tra i patrimoni dell'umanita'. Oggi chissa' la citta' si trova in decadenza, ma anticamente era uno dei porti piu' importanti dell'oceano Pacifico e quasi tutto il flusso commerciale che dall'Europa viaggiava verso il Pacifico doveva passare per questo porto (prima che si aprisse il canale di Panama).

Dear Steemit friend, after writing you in the last two posts how we bought and how we are renovating our house, at last I can show you how the facade changed after the renovation. I don't know whether you agree that it looks like a fairytale house, but definitely it looks quite special. It's another example of the ancient architecture of Valparaiso that allowed this city to be awarded as Human Heritage according to Unesco. Today the city is, generally speaking, decadent, but in the past was one of the most important harbour on the Pacific Ocean and almost every ship traveling from Europe to the Pacific coast would stop here (before Panama Channel was opened).
