It was a while since I took you with me on my trips around Korea. I have lots of photos, notes, and emotions that I want to share with you. And today I want to show you one of the museums, that I visited a couple of weeks ago.

It is a National Aviation Museum of Korea that opened its doors just in July 2020.

National Aviation Museum of Korea

The museum is located in Seoul, right near the Gimpo Airport. So, if you will be around the Gimpo Airport, and have free time, visit the museum. It is free of charge, except for different activities that you can try in the museum. But most of them are not so expensive, around $1-3.

At the entrance to the museum, you will meet a cute plane robot. It has a name but I don't really remember...

The museum looks small from the outside, however, there are 3 floors full of different exhibitions, rest zones, etc.

We started from the very 1st floor. It is the largest hall I think. It starts with a history of world aviation. Visitors can learn about the first 'flying machine' and see how aviation was developed into modern planes.

Just to show you the size of the museum, I will share the plan of the 1st floor of the museum. It is only 1st floor!U

Also, there are corners with exhibitions telling about aviation's role in different world events, like 2nd World War, Korean War.

I was impressed seeing the part of a real plane inside the building. And I never thought that the plane looks like that.

If be honest there were a lot of explanations about each plane, each airline, each big event in Korea and the world, and some famous people, and I was so into reading it, so after leaving the museum I realized that I took just a couple of photos. But, for sure I will come to that museum again.

I was surprised by some facts about Korean War. Look at those numbers. On the left side is South Korea and on the right side is North Korea. Do you see the difference between 2 armies? North Korea had 10 times more aircraft than South Korea! And not just planes, but also the army and pilots.

The 2nd floor of the museum is dedicated to the Aviation industry. Aviation is not just aircraft, it is a huge system including people, including buildings like airports, cargo terminals, flight services, etc. And on the 2nd floor of the museum, you can learn more about airport work, in-flight work that stays behind the scene.

On the 3rd floor, there was a children's museum and an observation deck. I wasn't able to get into the children's museum due to age restrictions haha. And for the observation deck, I just enjoyed the view and forgot about the camera.

But... I will share with you a photo of the special zone on the 1st floor. Kids can get in this small plane! I can't imagine Korea without cute stuff. I am not surprised to see something cute everywhere, even in governmental institutions.

There was a stat about the rank of air transport by the nation. Korea takes the 6th place with 29,147 mln ton/km. Number 1 is America. The data includes passenger and cargo transportation.

Here is one of the activities that I want to try next time when I will visit the museum again. Here is an urgent evacuation from the plane. It looks super real. And actually, I think it is a very useful experience and knowledge.

Hope you enjoyed that short digital trip. Do you have an aviation museum in your country?
