You can say what you want about New York, but nobody can deny it’s one of the greatest cities in the world — because of the people. You visit New York and you see the Statue of Liberty and you say “this is America”....this is the “land of freedom”.

That is what it was before the Covid 19 lockdown. The city is a melting pot that has historically accepted all travelers and immigrants. If you could make it New York, you could make it anywhere....that is the motto.

It has changed over the years like all places. I get a feel that there is this undercurrent of what Liberty means and I pray we never forget what the people in this country did to protect freedom since the countries inception.

To be honest, I am still not use to seeing New York without the World Trade Centers since 911 happened. The country really came together but many things have changed with this country as a result.

The skyline and bridges are historic. A trip along the river on a perfect fall day gave spectacular views.

The infamous Rockefeller Center, who doesn’t know this from National Evening news and now you see it. Everything is larger than life.

The cathedrals and buildings are one thing, the people and the hustle and bustle was “another level”. It just busy everywhere you go.

Walls of people. Walls of buildings. You look back and you miss this feeling after being in isolation. Will it be the same? Hard to look at 5th Avenue now totally empty.

It’s a place you must visit once in your life to truly get a feel for the city and the people.

We don’t have the buildings that are 100’s of years old. The country really is not that old.,,,but you do have unique architecture all over the city.

Why do I say prayers? We can see that this magnificent city has been ravaged by the virus. The first responders and medical teams again have answered the call for heroism as other have throughout this country.

My prayers for New York and this great country to once again be the beacon of freedom worldwide.

Thanks for reading.
