보라색 나팔꽃
나팔꽃은 메꽃과에 속하는 한해살이풀로, 주변의 식물이나 물체에 지지하여 자라는 덩굴식물입니다.
기원지는 인도이며, 줄기는 덩굴지고 왼편으로 감아 올라가며 최대 2m까지 자랍니다.
이 특이한 식물은 빛이 적으면 약해지고, 줄기가 꺾이면 새로 순을 내어 성장합니다.
꽃은 통꽃이며 나팔모양이고, 청자색, 흰색 또는 분홍색으로 여름철에 핍니다.
나팔꽃의 씨앗은 견우자(牽牛子)로 불리며 예로부터 준하제(峻下劑) 또는 이뇨제(利尿劑)로 사용되기도 했습니다.
