CCRI, fully meaning Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute, is a research organization which has seven years working experiences with high potential. This organization actually works about the sustainability issues of the digital products specially mentioned cryptocurrency and blockchain.

Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute focuses on the realtime electricity consumption by the crypto networks and reporting of crypto investment-related carbon emissions as well as the environmental impacts of the activities related to the cryptocurrencies. CCRI’s observation about Tron

Recently Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute has published an interesting report about Tron networks. The report focused about the envirnmental issues like the annual electricity consumption of Tron networks with some of their observations.

Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute publishes that the electricity consumption of Tron network is 162 thousands kWh. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, yearly electricity consumption of an average family of USA is 10,715 kWh. Comparing with this data, Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute shows that total electricity consumption of Tron network is nearly equivalent to the electricity consumption of just 15 families as 162,868 /10,715 = 15.2, which is less than 0.001% of Bitcoin network.

Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute mentioned it as the best guess that captures the consumption of the average node best for the network. CCRI also claimed that the annual carbon footprint of Tron network is equivalent to the eleven journeys from Munich to San Francisco and back again in case of business class flight that is figured out 69.47 tCO2e. It is three times lower than the proof-of-stake network.
