Technology is making this money digital which is a good initiative as it is going to help the government a lot in the reduction of logistic expenses. When we save money it is considered cash that most of us carry for different needs but still, it is one of the most common forms of used money. Digital money is also getting more attention now but is still the adoption rate is still not so high that we can expect to surpass it completely from physical currency to digital currency in the next few years.
In India, CBDC has already been launched which is the digital form of Fiat currency or you can call it physical currency. As of now, this is available for the selected people because still it is part of the beta program however it is expected that in the next year, the banks will expand its accessibility. People in metro cities will surely adopt it faster but the digital money adoption in tier two and tier three cities will take time. Still, I can say that with the advancement and digitization, the reduction of cash utility has already been started so we are going to see a world that will be dealing more with digital currency in the next few years.
