Who Owns The Most Bitcoin?
Satoshi Nakamoto is widely believed to own the largest stash of Bitcoin, with an estimated 1.1 million BTC. Not only did Nakamoto invent Bitcoin, but they also played a pivotal role in its early stages by mining the first blocks of transactions. Starting from January 3rd, 2009, Satoshi mined over 22,000 blocks and received more than one million bitcoins in block rewards during the early years of Bitcoin's existence.
As of February 2024, Satoshi’s holdings are worth roughly $47 billion. These bitcoins are distributed across approximately 22,000 addresses, and with the exception of a few test transactions, none have been spent. Satoshi’s involvement with the project ended in 2010, and since then, their identity and whereabouts have remained a mystery.

They famously announced in 2013 that they had purchased roughly $11 million worth of Bitcoin at an average price of $10 per coin. Their holdings are now estimated at around 70,000 BTC.
Tim Draper
Venture capitalist Tim Draper has long been a Bitcoin advocate. After losing 40,000 BTC in the infamous Mt. Gox hack, Draper made a bold move in 2014, purchasing 29,656 BTC for $18.7 million—around $632 per coin. Draper has since become one of Bitcoin’s most prominent supporters.

The founder and chairman of MicroStrategy, Michael Saylor, revealed in October 2020 that he personally owned 17,732 BTC. Given his outspoken support for Bitcoin, it is likely that Saylor has acquired even more BTC since then.
