Introduction
There's an option on the youtube phone app to download videos. But you cannot open the videos outside of the youtube app on your phone. For desktop owners, there's no such option on youtube to download videos sadly. That is why we will be using y2mate for our convenience.
What is y2mate?

Step 1: Go to y2mate.com on your browser.
Step 2: Open youtube or any other site that you want to download from. Copy the link to the desired video.
Step 3: Go to the page you opened in 1st step, you will see a box where it will ask you to paste or search for the link. Paste or type your link in the input box.
Step 4: Click or tap "START" to begin the converting process.
Step 5: You will see many options in which you can download your video. From HD to low quality in video format of just audio file. Select the option that you see fit for your needs.
Step 6: Click or tap a "Download" button next to the quality option you want to download.
Step 7: After clicking on the "Download" button, a pop-up will come up. Wait a few seconds and click Download MP4.
If you do not have Adblock Enabled, be careful not to click on the notifications option/ad. They are spam that can install adware on your device. Also, do not click on the allow notifications button if it pops up. Click **block** if there are any requests. In general, it is not a good idea to allow notification on random sites unless you trust the website and want regular pop-ups from it.
Step 8: Your video will be downloaded by now so enjoy watching it.
