Good day fellow technology lovers, while I await the results of the contest, I decided to drop one post I've been keeping at the back of my mind. This post is something everyone in the 21st century can relate with regardless of their location. The aim of this post is to bring out the good in technological devices. Many people attribute all the bad in the world to technology whilst overlooking the good it has done so I came here to do just that. Sit back and enjoy the post.

Abstract

As humans, we tend to be really fast to blame others or something for any problems. No matter how many good things a government does if one single accident should happen on road, the citizens would trace it to the government and blame the government. This same thing applies in the case of technology. Let me give an example of a student in the university who does terribly in an examination and his/her parents see the result. One of the first things the parents would blame is his/her gadgets (phones, laptops e.t.c). I hear alot of parents trying to keep their children from advancing like the rest of the world by keeping them from having devices until they reach the age of 18. This can be a good parenting method to some but it is not good.
Here are the good things brought by technology to various aspects of life.

In Finance

Technology has made calculation in offices much easier with the use of calculators unlike the past of counting objects like stones, sticks etc. It has also made storage of business data much easier as they can be stored digitally in laptops, phones, hard drives, flash drives etc unlike in the past where we used paper for everything making the office bulky. In the case of a fire the paper would be lost but with technology we can easily back them up to the cloud or in another storage device. The transfer of money from one account to another to complete business transactions has been made easier through technology. It also brought about cryptocurrencies and other digital currencies, it enable us buy company stocks from any part of the world with only our phones/laptop and data connection.

In Education

Applications like English dictionary and YouTube are there to make learning faster and easier for students trying to understand on their own. Projectors are used in classes to make learning more lively, visible to the whole audience and easier. There is a higher likelihood for the students to understand and remember more if a projector is used than if a white board or chalkboard. In the case of a hospitalized student or home schooling student, YouTube has alot of knowledge to give out and from different teachers all around the world so anyone who doesn't understand can switch form one teacher to another.

In Agriculture

In the past, several people would come to the farm and start working from morning till evening before they would sow in large scale but now just 5 to 10 people with the help of machines like a tractor, plough etc they can sow and harvest in large scale. This is necessary to keep up with the growing population of humans and animals in the world. Technology has also succeeded in making transportation easier when moving the products from the farm to the market.

In Transportation

This is one of the key sectors as it affects everyone sector. The world is very vast and wide and someone let's use a tourist wishing to roam the earth would find that difficult if they were using a beast of burden( horse, donkey) but with the advent of speed boats, yacht, airplane, cargo plane, luxurious bus, motor bike etc transportation has been made both easier and faster. An entrepreneur who plans on going to China to procure goods and services would easily take an airplane there and arrive in less than 12 hours but if one were to use a horse to partake on that same journey, it would take more than a week.

In Job Creation

People often say technology takes away jobs but what they also fail to realize is the fact that it also creates its own jobs. In this era, someone can be in his home all day and still be amassing thousands of dollars daily. People produce apps for a living, people analyze the crypto market for a living and sell signals, people trade stocks and all this can be done from the comfort of ones home with the aid of a smart phone or laptop. I know people who take Steemit as their major job as it's where they use to feed their family. I am an example of such a person, as a student I couldn't get a nice job so I decided to take Steemit as my source of livelihood and also a way to keep myself busy. All this thanks to technology.

I know that people survived without technology back in the caveman era but technology has made things much better than they were supposed to be. It has become part of this generation and most of us need it (technology) to sustain our families, feed the masses, effectively communicate with people around the world from one position and so on. Let's all stop writing off technology as something that brings more harm than good and start appreciating it more. Thanks for reading. N.B.
