Hello steemians, I am @ononiwujoel a member of this community and a graphics designer. My special regards to @cryptokraze and the SIZ community for the opportunity to participate in this Talent Hunt Contest.
I will be giving a brief tutorial on graphics design using Coreldraw X7.

About Graphics Design

Graphics design is a visual art that is used for communicating information, ideas and concepts with typography, symbols, pictures and other graphics tools.
It is called an art because it involves a lot of creativity and focus to create good designs and it's also very concept-oriented

Personally I see Graphics design as something far deeper than just visual art. I see it as an institution that covers many social needs of the general public.

Graphics design can be used for a lot of projects including; Branding for firms and companies, Flyers, Banners, Newspapers, Signage, Magazines, Printing on clothes, Online art and Invitation Cards to mention but a few.

Popular softwares for graphics design includes; Illustrator, Photoshop, Coreldraw, Indesign and Affinity designer.
But today I will be focusing on Coreldraw so let's get on with it friends.

So let's make a simple card

How to use Coreldraw x7:

I'm doing this illustration with Coreldraw x7 so this is a new empty page

• 1 is pick tool used for picking and dropping text, symbols, images, vectors and other elements.
• 2 is shape tool used for manipulating nodes and editing a curve text or object
• 3 is crop tool used for cropping objects and removing areas outside a selection
• 4 is zoom tool used for zooming in and out to change magnification level
• 5 is freehand tool used for drawing line segments and arrows
• 6 is Artistic tool used for calligraphic effects, brush and spray
• 7 is rectangle tool used for drawing rectangles and squares.
• 8 is ellipse tool used for drawing circles and ellipses
• 9 is polygon tool as it's name implies it's used for drawing polygons and other shapes
• 10 is text tool used for writing and editing text
• 11 is parallel dimension tool used for drawing slanted dimension line segments
• 12 is straight line connector tool used for drawing a straight line to connect two objects
• 13 is drop shadow tool used for adding shadow to objects and text
• 14 is transparency tool used for making objects and text transparent
• 15 is color eyedropper tool used for picking colors from an object, text or image
• 16 is interactive fill tool used for applying the color picked by the eyedropper tool to an object or text
• 17 is smart fill tool used to create objects from overlapping areas and apply fill to them.
  Other important tools include page orientation, import, export, color palette.

Now I've made a write up to be edited and created a rectangle

Now I've added colours to text and background

Finally I add SIZ logo and Steemit logo and we are good to go

So this how I've just used Coreldraw x7 for a simple design.

This skill can be used for creating adverts about contest and other information in Steemit and can also be used for advertising the steemit block chain online to attract people especially those in the crypto market and bloggers.
