WhatsApp may test media files with 2GB in size. The company, in the latest beta version of its Android app, has increased the file size limit from 100MB to a whopping 2GB. WABetaInfo reports that the new feature is currently under development, and it is not available for public users yet.

The new feature is available in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.18.237). This will let users share media files higher than 100MB in size for the first time on WhatsApp. The report notes that the 2GB file size limit should be enough to share 4K videos on the platform without any issues. It is worth pointing out that users will not be able to send a single file bigger than 2GB, but they can send multiple files that add up to the new file size limit.

The instant messaging platform recently raised the group video call participants to limit from four to eight people, and it is also reportedly working on Dark Mode, which seems to be delayed due to some technical issues as per WABetaInfo.
