Rescue Diary -Teddy is saved
Teddy is a beautiful 3 year old Malamute that was surrendered by his owners to a high-kill shelter in California.
To those unfamiliar with the shelter situation here in many states a dog that is "surrendered" will usually be the first ones to be euthanized and since many shelters have limited capacity a surrendered dog's chance for survival are slim.
Fortunately Teddy is a beautiful and healthy Malamute (albeit a bit skinny) so a rescue was notified and lucky Teddy was saved from death and now he was on his way to a rescue foster to begin his voyage to his eventual forever family.
For once we wouldn't be on the road for hours as we only had a hundred mile leg to cover but poor Teddy would be traveling for 3 days from California to Missouri (about 1700 miles) so we couldn't complain anyhow).
We met up with a familiar rescue transporter up in Flagstaff for our meet and pick up.
As usual Lulu was her "I'm a gruff tuff Texas girl" but Teddy didn't care and was happy to be on board and getting more attention while the countryside rolled past.
My third Malamute transport through the years and they all have been such sweeties and Teddy was not different and hopefully he'll find a new home up north soon.
All too soon (for us at least, Teddy was happy to get out) we were at our drop off meet spot and it was time to say goodbye to Teddy (even Lulu wanted to say so long).
Teddy has settled in nicely with his foster family and is absolutely wonderful per the family (he even likes their kitten)

I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 years or so.
