NOAH’S FIRST CAMPING FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE

The Boys were 39 in number with a new scout member. It was camping season for the Greenfield Scout Team. Young high school boys around neighborhood gathered together with their camping equipments such as Camping bags, tents, food supplies, light touches, boots, whistles, ropes, stereos and game boards.

The first task of the scout on getting to the camp site was to prep the environment which involve setting up temporal tents in front of the camp cabins, some group of boys were sent to get dry woods for the campfire set up. It was summer time and the sky was beautiful.

Noah the new scout member was just settling in for his first camping experience when the scout master blasted the whistle for the first general camp gathering. He didn't have time to admire his uniform as he usually does, he had joined the Greenfield Scout Association when they moved into the Greenfield community three months ago and it was his first camp festival.

It was an annual thing, although he had being on outing for several occasions. For instance, when Mrs Thomas cat went missing and the scout joined the search team a month after he joined. Or when a lost girl was found in the neighborhood and taken to the Sheriff. They also help Mrs Palmer to amend her Pet house.

“Noah!”
He just juggled back to reality when he heard the scout master’s voice.
Yes sir! He replied standing attention in his white on white shirt and trouser. He held his head high, he had been lost in thought back in the temporary tent they set up. Two boys shared a tent because it could only accommodate the cozy comfort of two companies.
Use your cap and jog to meet the other boys. Lift them foot boy!!! He yelled after Noah

It was late in the evening the camp has been set up and the boy laughter range out as Dan shared his favourite tale of Mother Pumpkin. He had told the story over and over that the boy knew the lines. He gestured his hand and all the boy shouted in unisonism.
“And mother pumpkin rolled down the valley!”
“Oi Oi Greenfield Scout!” The scout master interrupted. The boy were all on their feet and then the scout master call Noah up to the stage for his first camping orientation.
“Oi Noah”
“Yes Sir!” Noah held his 14 years old head high in his uniform, he had always wanted to join the scout. He felt really proud to be a part of this scout team.

Then the scout master yelled again.
“How are you boy?!”
“Better than ever Sir!”
“Remind me Greenfield motto!”
“Helping hands, Building Leaders, Community service!!!”
“Oi Boy!” The scout master yelled again
“Yes sir!”
“Anthem!”
They began to stump their feet and clap their hand as they matched round the campfire. They sang loudly and the Master joined.

“Oi boys Oi boys of Greenfield;
Never late, never weary, never laggingggg
Off we go marching on for serviceeeee”
