If we had the power to eradicate any one of those diseases (just one), which one would you prefer to see go away? Describe your opinion.

If I had to eradicate one disease, I would choose Cancer. Basically, cancer is not a single disease of any organ, but it can involve any organ. Cancer refers to uncontrolled growth of cells initially in any particular organ and later spread to other organs. Cancer is known to kill about millions of people worldwide.

Cancer has widespread devastating impacts in terms of social, economic, and health contexts both on the patient and loved ones. From the perspective of suicide, cancer takes millions of lives every year, depriving millions of families of their loved ones, eroding their emotional state, and draining them economically.

Besides taking lives, cancer burdens society and families of the patients economically. Various treatments for cancer like radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and other surgical procedures are very costly and come with uncertain prognoses. In the majority of cases, economic crippling does not come with an assurance of a cure.

In addition to the economic and emotional trauma to the patients' loved ones, the physical damage caused by cancer to the patient is disfiguring and painful. Cancer pain is one of the worst types of pain in terms of severity and intensity.

Eradication of cancer would therefore mark a landmark milestone in the field of medical science. First, it would save the lives of millions of people every year, relieving them of their agony and pain. It would also save the financial, emotional, and mental crippling of millions of families worldwide.

Eradication of cancer would also save healthcare budgets globally, which can be used for advancing research and building infrastructure for other diseases, improving outcomes for those diseases as well. This, therefore, enhances the overall healthcare system.

Have you known people who have suffered from that disease? Do you think the world would be a much better place if that disease did not exist?

Being a health professional, I have dealt with patients suffering from cancer. Moreover, one of our relatives died from the same disease a few years ago, which was a premature death. So, I have witnessed the implications of cancer very closely.

I think the world would be a better place without this disease. First of all, millions of lives could have been saved every year in its absence. The physical, mental, and emotional trauma of millions of patients and their families could have been prevented. It could have prevented the financial crippling of millions of families globally. Healthcare would be in a better position because cancer consumes a significant portion of the healthcare budget. More resources and brainpower could be utilized for other fields to improve their services and qualities. Therefore, medical science would be in an advanced stage of its development
