SBD short form for Steem backed Dollar, is what I know quite a while since I joined the platform a couple of years ago. It is not new to me. It is also called Steem Dollar. SBD is a token used on Steemit to buy only Steem in the internal market. It is designated with dollar symbol, $ , because it is like a currency of purchase for Steem. Likewise, Steem can be sold to get Steem Backed Dollar on the internal market. Currently the trade rate is 1 SBD to 13 Steem, and 1 SBD is about 4.5US Dollar.
| How has the arrival of SBDs influenced your growth? |

Bringing back SBD into the paying system has helped my Steem growth. This is because I can trade 1 SBD to get 13 Steem. Having more SBD means having a lot more Steem to gain. Converting my earned Steem backed Dollar to Steem and powering up the Steem aids my growth faster on the Steemit platform. As a result, my effective Steem power increases. This in turn gradually increases my influence on the posts of others , and my curation reward goes up too
| Do you consider that it is better to receive rewards directly in Steem or do you prefer them in SBD? Why? |

I prefer to receive rewards in SBD than in Steem directly. Reason being that you get more Steem after converting your SBD than receiving direct steem as rewards.

I remembered a post I wrote some time ago for season 16 week 6 of the Steemit Engagement Challenge. It didn't have much reward. It was upvoted and paid out as $6. 67. I really don't know the percentage share of the reward for Steem power and SBD but I do know that author to curator rewards share on upvote is about 50-50. So I had about $ 3.2 paid out in 1.588 SBD and 5.355 STEEM POWER. I traded the 1.588 SBD to get 22.04 Steem. I was happy to have this amount of Steem. Though the upvote was little, the eventual Steem rewards was something tangible.
In conclusion, SBDs increases the worth of my account helping me to grow at a faster rate on the Steemit platform. The influence of Steem backed Dollar is tremendous.
