Burst of Tropical Flavors Straight from the Backyard!

Earlier today, I spent some time admiring the beautiful fruits growing in the backyard of my restaurant.

These trees were planted by my brother-in-law, and they’re full of delicious surprises!

Sugar Apple / Starfruit / Local Cherry

We have the Sugar Apple or as we call it here in Mauritius, Zatte.

This fruit has a soft, creamy texture and is incredibly sweet. It’s a favorite for many here on the island.

Then we have the Starfruit : A bright yellow fruit that looks like a star when you slice it.

It’s refreshing, slightly tangy, and so unique.

Finally there’s the Local Cherry, Small but bursting with flavor.

These little cherries are sweet with a touch of tartness, making them perfect for snacking or adding to desserts.

I love how these fruits remind me of the simple joys of nature.
