Recipe Of The Day Week No.41 || Sauteed Pork Tongue
Greetings,
I went to market and look for some inexpensive meat for dinner. How about the meat of pig's tongue. In the Philippines it's price is 200 peso per kilo(13.86 STEEM) lesser than the regular pork meat 300 pesos per kilo (20.80 STEEM). I have eaten this before and I wanted to taste it again.
Ingredients:
pig's tongue
1 onion
3 cloves garlic
1 paprika
2 sprouts chives
3 bay leaves
5 pieces green chilis
3 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon vinegar
1 cup water
magic sarap
Cooking oil
Procedure
1.Prepare all the ingredients. In a pot boil the pig's tongue with salt, onions, garlic, and bay leaves until the tongues' can be removed.
2.Thinly slice the tongue and season with magic sarap.
3.Heat an oil in a frying pan. Stir fry the sliced paprika, green chilies, and chives. After put in a separate plate.
- 4.Using the same pan saute the pork tongue together with onions and garlic for 15 minutes.
- 5.Add water, vinegar, and soy sauce. Stir and cook for another 5 minutes. After, the sauteed vegetables and serve.

Pork tongue is tasty and nutritious. It is rich in calories, fatty acids, vitamin B12, zinc, and iron. It boost the immune systems and protects from illness.
