Steemit Engagement Challenge S7-W1: Healthy Nutrition

INTRODUCTION

Greetings fellow steemians and welcome to my post. I am happy to be among the living today, and also happy to be able to post my entries throughout. However, for today, I will like to participate in the steemironchef community S7W1 engagement contest that demands we talk about healthy nutrition.

A food is said to be healthy when it is properly prepared in a good environment with good hygiene, and when that food contains the seven classes if food in adequate proportion.
An unhealthy good can cause variety of casualties o an individual, ranging from food poisoning to infection.

However, there are different types of healthy food, there are the ones for diabetic people, malnourished people, for people who wants to gain or loose weight e.t.c

WHAT IS HEALTHY EATING FOR YOU?
From my own perspective, healthy eating means eating the right food containing the seven classes of food, at the right time. For example, a person should be able to eat at least thrice a day at a right proportion of 8am, 2pm and 7pm. However, the intervals of eating is dependent on the economical status of an individual.
WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF EATING FOODS THAT PROVIDE NUTRIENTS, MINERALS AND VITAMINS TO THE BODY?

There are many many importance of eating healthy food. Without healthy foods individuals Will be at a high risk of getting infection from the surrounding. These are the importance of healthy eating;

  1. Helps in body building

  2. Helps in replacing worn out tissues of the body

  3. Help manufacturing red blood cells

  4. Help in the production of glucose needed for energy

  5. Help to develop the brain for better brain activities

  6. Help in the growth and development of an individual

  7. Eating healthily and timely helps to prevent certain diseases such as stomach ulcers

  8. Eating healthily helps in the normal functioning of the entire body

These are some of the importance of eating healthy foods I could remember now, but there are lots more of it.

DO YOU CONSIDER YOUR DIET TO BE HEALTHY?
YES, even as a Nigerian student I am, I try my best k make sure that I have all the classes of food while eating, and I also make sure that I eat at least three times daily, with additional snacks in-between meals.
WHICH ARE THE FOODS THAT YOU CONSUME MOST IN YOUR DAILY MENU, DO YOU CONSIDER THAT THEY ARE THE RIGHT ONES TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY DIET?
First of, I am an Igbo lady, and one traditional.food we have is eba ( cassava floor, thickened with hot water) this is my major food during the nights, and rice, attimes beans and other things during the day.

However, the major food I consume here in school is rice. It is actually a staple food and is cheap and affordable to me as a student. To make it balanced, attimes I mix it with fish, beans, vegetable oil, shrimps, and other things, so that I'll get all the classes of food I desire.

DETAIL FROM YOUR CRITERIA A HEALTHY MENU FOR THE DAY, BREAKFAST (BREAKFAST, LUNCH, SNACK, DINNER, DRINK ETC)

Well, doing a food menu for someone is dependent on which diet they are on. Like I said above, they have diverse types of diet which includes diabetic diet, diet for the sick, for malnourished people e.t.c but since it's not indicted here which meal plan to construct, I'll go ahead and construct a meal plan for a healthy person.

TIMEFOOD
Breakfastmilked tea, bread, and egg or custard, quaker oat and beans
Mid-morningOrange juice with crackers biscuits or smoothy
Lunchboiled yam and tomato sauce with enough vegetables and less pepper, or eba and vegetable soup (or any soup of choice) with enough meat or poridge unripe plantain
Mid-afternoonsmoothy,or donuts and yoghurt, or fishroll
DinnerRice ( jollof or stew) with less meat
30 minutes before bed timea glass of juice or yoghurt

I agree with the adequate hygiene of both food and the environment where food is prepared and thus prevent a great risk of contracting infections, especially gastrointestinal infections.

Saludos amigo, ciertamente debemos tratar de alimentarnos sanamente y aportar al organismo la mayor cantidad de nutrientes posible; tu como estudiante debes cuidar además tus horarios de comida para evitar trastornos gastrointestinales, a veces la presión de los estudios nos lleva a desequilibrar esa parte. Me encanto tu menú y entrada, gracias por compartirlo con nosotros.

Tal como señalas es importante cuidar la incorporación de cada uno de los grupos alimenticios a nuestra dieta, cuidando las cantidades y el horario en el que son consumidas.

El arroz es uno de los alimentos más universales, y que puede ser acompañado con una gran variedad de proteínas o carbohidratos.
