contest” 1 Picture 1 Story Week #71
Hello my steemian friends,
This is my participation in the contest” 1 Picture 1 Story Week #71 @suboohi in Steem For Pakistan
I also want to invite here @senehasa @josepha @paholags
There was a 19-year-old young boy, Sohail, who lived with his mother.
When he was barely 13 years old when his father died, he had no choice but to struggle to survive and become the earning member of the family. Sohail and his mother Sakina lived in a small room in a slum, where the smell of poverty dominated.
The sun was setting, Sohail came back home, where he used to go to do manual work to make ends meet, he opened the front door of his room and walked into the kitchen, where his mother was singing to her favourite song, while bent over a small kerosene stove and cooking Sohail's favourite dish.
Sohail greeted his mother as he sat on the bed, and counting the money he had earned from the day's work, he said to his mother, "I have earned enough money today; it will be enough to buy some rice, flour and rations for tomorrow."
Mother smiled a weak smile – she was tired from a long day of work too – and said, “May God bless the work of your hands, my son. Perhaps soon all our sorrows will be over.”
Sohail nodded in affirmation, though he had heard those words countless times, so it was hard to believe them now. After lunch, he sat down to read an old medical textbook. Even though he was a school dropout, he still read his medical book sometimes.
The next morning, while he was at the construction site where he worked, a poster caught his attention: there he saw a large poster advertising a company’s Millions lottery ticket. It was a fantastic lottery ticket worth 10 million rupees.
“Imagine if I won this thing,” he asked.
From behind, his friend Anwar mocked him, “Don’t fantasize now, friend, work.”
“Fantasies sometimes become reality, my brother,” Sohail replied, laughing. But when he returned home that evening, he thought about it.
Three days later, Sohail was able to save a hundred rupees by working two shifts and buy a lottery ticket. So he bought it.
Four weeks later, he was on his usual way out on the streets when he heard a buzzing sound from a nearby loudspeaker. A van was parked, and an announcement was being made from it that contained the results of the lottery.
Sohail was shocked when he heard the winning numbers. They matched the numbers on his ticket.
"Is this a dream?" he said to himself aloud, as his heart began to beat faster and sweat began to pour down his shocked face. He held the ticket in his hands and stared at it in disbelief.
His friend Anwar was also there with him, and asked what happened Sohail?
"I think I won."
Anwar laughed out loud, but Sohail wasn't joking. His hands trembled as he held his ticket and moved towards the man sitting in the van, who looked at it carefully and took it with a big smile and said, “Congratulations, you are the lucky winner of our Millions Lottery ticket.”
The same day Sohail and his mother were immediately taken to the lottery office where they were given a cheque for the huge amount of Ten million rupees. Mother could not stop the tears of joy.
“My son, God has finally done it.”, she could not stop the tears flowing down her plump cheeks as she held his hands tightly.
“Mom, this is the first step towards our success.”, he said, and tears filled his eyes, “Now we will move to a better place, I will complete my education and make you proud mom.”
With his wealth, he moved to a medium-sized but nice apartment in a quiet residential area. He studied medicine.
After a few years, Sohail established a charitable hospital in his area, which offered free treatment to help the less privileged. He did not want others to suffer what he had suffered in life as a young boy.
Sohail had a smile on his innocent face which was missing for a long time during his life.
Thanks for reading my story , I pray to God for the progress and happy future of all Steemians

¡Holaaa amigo!🤗
