Weekly Contest - Best Diary Game | Welcoming my first Grandson
Good day, my dear steemian friends. I've come here to partake in the "Best Diary of the Week" contest, which was hosted by @hive-180106 via the Steem for Pakistan Community.
It was September 22, 2024, the day our Presidential Election, and the police had imposed an island-wide curfew. At around 2.00 p.m. as my husband and I were watching the election result on television, my son rushed into my house and told me that her wife was experiencing unusual pain. We hurried to their house as soon as we heard it, and because she was causing some inconvenience, we decided to admit her to the hospital. Even though the country was under curfew, we drove to the hospital. The road was mostly clear and we were able to reach the hospital in 15 minutes, even though it was approximately 35 kilometers distant from my house. My daughter was immediately sent to the labor room since she was in bad condition. Because I was not permitted to enter the labor room, I remained in the hospital room and watched the election results on television, so I did not feel lonely and excited.
My son informed me about 7:00 a.m. that the baby had been born and that both the mother and the baby were well. I was overjoyed to hear that fantastic news, and I quickly contacted my husband to convey the good news. Later, I shared it with my daughter's parents, who were unable to attend the hospital due to curfew because they lived 213 km away from Colombo. We were all delighted to welcome this little one into the world.
The most awaited moment arrived at 9.30 a.m. when my newborn grandson and daughter-in-law were brought into the room. My heart was filled with joy when I saw my grandson for the first time. My eyes welled up with floods of joy as I saw him wrapped up so little and delicately. When I saw his sweet face, my entire world transformed, and everything seemed brighter.
Later, around 11.30 a.m. my daughter's parents and brother came to the hospital after being trapped at home owing to the curfew. Both of our families were overwhelmed and flocked around this small, cute baby, who made our day particularly special. We were all smiling with excitement, thrilled for this new life in our family, sharing laughter and happiness. We ate lunch together at the hospital cafeteria and stayed until 6:30 a.m. laughing and sharing our happiness.
In the evening, I returned with my daughter's father and sibling, leaving her mother and my son to care for them. We stopped at the restaurant and purchased our dinner. We celebrated our most precious day by expressing our heartfelt feelings around the dinner table.
That night, I went to bed feeling proud that I had become a grandma. I am certain that this new chapter in my life brought me much joy. It is a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Awh what great news! Congratulations my friend!
With the birth of your grandson your family’s legacy continues. I can just imagine how proud dad and grandpa must be.
May he only be a bundle of joy to all of you.

I know Grandpa will forget me because he has another guest with his own blood group. He's already forgotten about Beenu and is spending more time with our newborn.
We gladly welcome your kind wishes.
Awh, my friend, this is only the start. (•ิ‿•ิ)
Gosh, they are so precious and such a blessing.
I discovered that the saying "The love between grandparents and grandchildren is timeless and knows no boundaries" is so true.
