"One Picture And One Story Week #22".

Introduction

Good day everyone. How are you all doing today? This is a very nice contest and I'm very glad to participate in it. Today,I would be talking about the 14th of February, which was Ash Wednesday. I hope you enjoy reading.

Ash Wednesday

It was a very stressful day as I did a lot of things that day. I didn't attend the morning mass because I forgot and I needed to go to work, so I decided to attend evening mass. There were two masses and you can choose the one you prefer to attend.

I prepared for work that day and left immediately. We did the usual thing, preparing meatpie sauce, baking breads and other necessary things for the day. Later in the afternoon, I had some snacks for lunch and then continued working. We never get some time to rest except if the bread is still in the oven or cooling.

I closed by 5pm because the evening mass was to start by 6pm. Ash Wednesday normally begin with mass and it's funny that it landed on Valentine's day. I've never seen or experienced such before and I was also surprised though.

I got home and decided to eat a little before preparing for church. After eating, we were all done with the preparations and headed to church immediately so we won't be late, because church is always full on special occasions and you maybe get there late, you would likely not find somewhere to sit.

Thank God we got there on time but mass had already started. We located our seats and listened to the Reverend father while he was preaching. Not long, we were all asked to form a line in order to recieve the holy ash. It was blessed by the priest. We did that accordingly, seat by seat to avoid crowd.

It got to our turn and we went to recieve the holy ash which was done and we went to our seats. After everyone recieved the ash, it was time for offertory, and then holy communion time.

It was very interesting and after everything, we closed and went home because it was late already. We had dinner afterwards. Thanks for reaching my entry 🥰.
