The lion is called the royal wild animal or the king of the forest. Unfortunately, this animal is now on the endangered species list. Two of its species still survive - the African lion and the Asiatic lion.
Lions are usually found in Africa continent. The continent of Africa itself is famous as the home of wild animals in this world. Most lions now live only in Africa, from the southern tip of the Sahara to northern South Africa. These areas provide an ideal environment and availability of prey for lions to survive and maintain their communities. Most lions live south of the Sahara. Because lions are highly adaptable big cats, they can survive in a wide range of habitats, including dry forests, dense thickets, floodplains, and semi-arid desert regions.
The second Asiatic lion is found in Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Sasan Gir, a famous wildlife sanctuary and forest located in Talala Gir, Gujarat, India. The sanctuary is uniquely significant as it serves as the only known habitat for the Asiatic lion, making it an important area for conservation efforts.
There are currently three species of elephants. African forest elephant, African savanna elephant and Asian elephant. They are often found in savannas, grasslands, and forests, but they occupy a wide range of habitats, including deserts, wetlands, and highlands in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and Asia.
At last count, there are about 415,000 African elephants left, scattered across 37 African countries. Botswana, a country in southern Africa, is currently home to over 130,000 African elephants.
There are only 40,000 to 50,000 Asian elephants left. Home of India. The largest elephant population in Asia is about 20,964 elephants.
Lions are carnivores that eat meat, so lion's favorite food is the meat of various animals in the world, lions are famous hunters and carnivores, usually, they hunt herbivores. Some of their favorite prey include animals like zebra, deer, wild cow, and buffalo.
Elephants are the opposite of lions, elephants are herbivores who do not like to eat meat, elephants favorite food is tree bark, seeds, bamboo stalks, and leaves. They browse most types of different plants such as grass, leaves, fruits, bark, and roots. Tree bark is a favorite food source for elephants. It contains calcium and roughage, which aids in digestion.
