It's really great participating in this engagement challenge which has been organized by the consistent admin and moderators of the Steem For Pakistan community. Lovely initiative from you all team, I admire and commend your efforts.

For the sixth week, you presented an interesting topic titled How to Practice Meditation Every Day by @hive-180106.


Meditation has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its many mental, physical, and spiritual benefits.

It's an ancient practice that has been used for centuries to reduce stress, improve mental clarity and enhance overall wellbeing

Follow this article, as I would be exploring the basics of meditation, discuss the many health benefits it offers, and offer tips on how to get started with a successful meditation practice

What Meditation Is All About

Meditation basically refers to focusing our mindset, and calming it down. It has been used for centuries to help individuals relax, find inner peace, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being.

Meditation is typically done in a quiet space and involves sitting in a comfortable position, often with eyes closed, and concentrating on a single thought or phrase.

By focusing on this thought, one can clear their mind of distracting thoughts and become more aware of their own body and emotions.

Meditation can also involve guided imagery, controlled breathing, and chanting. There are many different types of meditation, but all have the same goal to gain insight into oneself, increase self-awareness, and enhance mental and emotional health.


There Are Various Types Of Meditation Which Includes:


  • Mindfulness Meditation: This type of meditation focuses on being present at the moment, with no judgment or expectation. It encourages awareness of the thoughts and feelings that come up, allowing them to pass without getting attached.

  • Loving-Kindness Meditation: This type of meditation is all about cultivating compassion and kindness towards yourself and others. It involves sending positive thoughts to yourself and then extending those thoughts outwards to other people in your life.

  • Visualization Meditation: This type of meditation utilizes imagery and visualization to create a peaceful and relaxed state. You focus on specific images or scenes in order to relax your mind and body.

  • Mantra Meditation: This type of meditation uses mantras, or words or phrases, as a tool for calming the mind. Repeating these mantras helps to focus the mind and keep it from wandering off into distracting thoughts.

  • Breathwork Meditation: This type of meditation emphasizes the breath as a tool for calming the mind and body.

Focusing on the breath, allows you to achieve a greater level of awareness and stillness within the body.


How Meditation Can Be Useful To Our Health

Meditation helps us in the following ways:


  • Stress Reduction: Meditation helps to reduce stress by calming the mind and body. It helps to reduce anxiety, worry, depression, anger, and fatigue. Studies have shown that regular meditation can help people respond better to stressful situations and can even lower blood pressure.

  • Focus and Clarity: The practice of meditation has been found to help improve concentration and focus. It increases the ability to concentrate on the present moment and can help clear the mind of clutter and worries that may be causing distraction.

  • Improved Sleep: Meditation can help improve the quality of sleep as it helps relax the body and mind before bedtime. It can also reduce insomnia and restlessness, leading to improved sleep patterns.

  • Self-Awareness: Meditation can help promote self-awareness, allowing a person to gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This can lead to improved self-esteem, confidence, and understanding of one's own emotions.

The Basic Guidelines Of Meditation For Beginners

While medication can be intimidating to begin, the process of meditation is actually quite simple.

  • Make A Commitment To Practice: Starting a meditation practice can feel like a daunting task, so committing yourself to regular meditation is key. Make a plan to meditate at least three times a week for at least 10 minutes each time. You can gradually increase the amount of time as your practice develops.

  • Choose A Comfortable Spot: Find a place where you can sit in peace without any distractions. It should be comfortable and conducive to relaxation. Many people prefer a spot outdoors, such as in a park or on their porches.

  • Start With Guided Meditation: Guided meditation is an excellent way to learn the basics of meditation. You can find many resources online or through apps, such as audio recordings and videos. Once you get the hang of it, you can then transition to solo meditations.

  • Focus On Your Breath: The most important thing to remember when meditating is to focus on your breath. As you inhale and exhale, pay attention to the sensation of air entering and leaving your body. This will help keep your mind from wandering and bring it back to the present moment.

  • Be Patient: Meditation takes time and practice. Don’t expect perfection from yourself right away, be gentle and understanding with yourself during the process. With dedication and consistency, you’ll soon be able to find stillness and peace through your practice.

How I Practice Meditation Everyday

From the moment I learned about the health benefits associated with meditation, I have been practicing it regularly.

I don't meditate for hours, at least 5-10 minutes can make a big difference in my life. I usually choose quiet places where I won’t be disturbed. I tend to sit in a comfortable position and close my eyes.

I usually take a few deep breaths and let my body relax peacefully, then I focus on my breathing, where I could feel my breath as it enters and leaves my body. I don’t try to control it, I just observe it.

As thoughts come into my mind, I acknowledge them without judgment, then let them go. If a thought persists, I label it “thinking” and let it pass.
In some cases during my meditation practice, I usually experience a range of emotions from anxiety to joy. I just acknowledge and accept these feelings without attaching to them. After all, meditation is a time to be with yourself, no matter how you feel.

When I feel ready, I open my eyes and take a moment to appreciate the stillness that comes with being present at the moment.

You would agree with me that meditation is an incredible tool for personal growth and healing. By incorporating it into your daily routine, you can reap its many benefits, including reduced stress, improved focus, and enhanced well-being.

The Good Results I Tend To Find In My Body After Meditation

Meditating regularly can have a profound impact on our bodies and overall health. Not only does it reduce stress, but it also helps with physical ailments like muscle tension and headaches.

Regular meditation can also improve our immune system, reduce inflammation, improve heart health, and even help us manage our weight.

So far, I have observed many good results of meditation in my body. It has greatly helped me with my mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.

When I meditate, am able to relax and focus my attention, reducing the amount of cortisol in my body which is known to contribute to physical illness. Meditation also helps to regulate hormones in my body and promote general balance.

Studies have also found that meditation can help lower blood pressure, improve digestion, and reduce pain. It also helps to improve my concentration and alertness, helping me focus on tasks more effectively. Furthermore, meditation has helped me sleep better at night.

Overall, regular meditation can have a significant positive impact on our physical and mental health. The key is consistency; the more often we meditate, the more profound the effects will be. With regular practice, we would be able to enjoy all the benefits that come from meditation.

Yes you are right that meditation is performed from the centuries and I want to add something in this that now it is more famous because of its health benefits and people are more aware of this and people are moving towards exercise and meditation and leaving the medications because medicine harm your internal health somehow
