Currently, the biggest problem in the world is environmental change, which is affecting the entire globe. Pakistan is also experiencing severe changes, with extreme weather conditions like harsh winters and scorching summers.

This year, the heatwave has been so intense that it could lead to a significant number of heat-related casualties, as we lack alternative measures to combat the heat.

Unfortunately, Pakistan has not made any arrangements to mitigate the effects of heatwaves, and the lack of tree plantation initiatives has further exacerbated the issue.

Instead of planting trees, people have been cutting them down, leaving the land barren and reducing the tree count significantly.

This has resulted in decreased rainfall and the elimination of tree cover across the country, leading to extreme weather fluctuations and rising temperatures

In the past, Pakistan's irrigation system was one of the best in the world, but it has deteriorated over time. Now, Pakistan lacks a functional irrigation system, forcing people to use river water for agriculture, which ultimately flows into the sea without being utilized.

This has resulted in significant losses for Pakistan. However, if Pakistan takes action and builds small dams to store water, it can irrigate its lands and fields during times of need, leading to substantial benefits and self-sufficiency in food production.

As an agricultural country, Pakistan has lagged behind in development, while the rest of the world has made progress. We are far behind in agricultural productivity, producing only a fraction of what other countries achieve per acre of land. Our country is stuck in the 20th century, while the world has entered the 21st century۔

Pakistan has been independent for approximately 77 years, but we have lagged far behind in the race of progress and development. If we had kept pace with the world, Pakistan would be among the most advanced countries today, given the abundance of talent in our country.

However, the lack of effective governance has held us back.
