"One Picture And One Story Week #71"

Greetings everyone,

I hope you are all well. Today I am participating in the "One Picture And One Story Week #71" contest organized by @suboohi. Participating in a contest every day has become a habit of mine now. So when I was checking the contest list, I thought that I would participate in this contest today.

I need a picture for the contest. So I checked the gallery to see if there was a suitable picture for it. There I found this picture. So I thought I would share the information related to this picture with you today. My mother is a very charitable person. She always spends money and does charity as much as she can. She is also a very pious woman, and she always teaches us good things.

Many years she had one dream, which she wanted to fulfill somehow. That is, she wanted to organize the Kathina Pinkam festival in the village temple in November 2024 under by her initiative.

Now you may be wondering what this Kathina Pinkam festival is. The Kathina Pinkam festival is a very special and respectful religious festival related to the Buddhist religion. This is held as a greeting to present the Kathina robe to the Sangha after the end of the rainy season. So, the presentation of the Kathina robe is done on the last day of the Kathina festival, and for several days, Buddhists perform special religious rituals and offer offerings to the Sangha.

This festival is especially considered a festival to increase unity and respect for the "Dhamma" among the "Sangha (Buddhist monks)". This festival is held every year in every region of our country, based on the temple belonging to that region. So, each year, a villager of each village conducts this festival under his or her leadership.

So my mother wanted to take over the Kathina festival last year. She had been preparing for this for several years and she had also collected the money required for the festival little by little. So accordingly, in November 2024, we kept the Kathina robe at our house for 3 days and paid homage to it by offering prayers. Also, during those 3 days, the people of the village came to our house and offered prayers to the Kathina robe and did not forget to offer offerings of oil, flowers, incense, water, gilanpasa, and food. The picture above shows the picture of the offerings made for the Kathina robe at our house.

One of the greatest acts of charity that a buddhist can perform in this worldly life is called the Kathina ceremony. This is a great act that affects the well-being of a person in this world as well as in the afterlife. So because of my mother, we were also able to participate in that act. She was able to successfully complete the Kathina ceremony last year, just as she had hoped.

Finally I would like to invite my some of friends @arshani, @enamul17 and @shohana1 to participate this contest.

🌼Thanks for reading🌼
