1 Picture 1 Story Week #58

Have you ever had the thought of getting something valuable and then ended up knowing it was a prank after getting your expectations high? This is exactly what happened during the last hangout I attended.

It was already 11 o'clock and I remembered I had a hangout to attend, it was a Steemit hangout. This was in July on a Saturday, I made preparations with my brothers as we arrived at the venue. We played many games, had snacks and drinks and we also went on to introduce ourselves as we knew each other better. Games were brought on like quizzes and prizes were given, it was more of a Steemit quiz and also a common knowledge quiz, I prepared these questions so I wasn't allowed to take part.

I made records of the winners and gave them their prizes. When it was time for the prizes, our mentor said he had a prize for someone, while we had him on the floor to speak, he said he was so encouraged by this person, and how devoted and hardworking the person was towards Steemit, we were all waiting and listening to know who the thus lucky person is, he didn't keep much suspense as he called on the name, a lady steemian. She was filled with shock and amazement, with happiness showing from her smiles.

The mentor handed over a bag to her which concealed the prize. She was still doubting as she looked at his face to make sure it wasn't a joke, she saw how serious his looks were, and she was ready to unveil this prize. She took it out of the bag which we were all watching and made a video trying to know what the prize was.

She took out the first wrap, then took it out from the seal, and behold it was a Phone, a Redmi note. I was already lost in thought if this could happen because a new Redmi Note 13 was around 800 - 1k steems at the current price. She was trying to unveil the phone, I don't know what we were all thinking because no one talked about the phone not being sealed, we were just interested in the device she would bring out.

She pulled up the first phone package and what we found was a written note on the photo above, "Na prank oh". Everyone pulled up with a laugh and also in shock. We didn't know that was the end product. I learned something from that, I should normalize seeing before I believe.
