How would you describe the average internet speed in your country? Is it equal to global standards or not?

Internet speed in India has increased very fast in the last few years, and it is not only increased but also almost the cheapest in the world. I think it is at par or even better than global standards and is quite good because of the internal competition between our domestic internet providing companies in the country.

The average broadband download speed in India depends on your plan like I have unlimited uses of Jio Fiber plan of 100 Mbps, but my speed is more than 100 Mbps, as you can see in the screenshot.

I checked my Wi-Fi speed by typing "speed check" in my browser:

I have Airtel mobile 4G internet with an average download and upload speed of 15 Mbps and 1.5 Mbps, and this puts India in the top 10 in mobile internet speed. So to check mobile internet speed, I first switched off the Wi-Fi connectivity to move on to the phone data mode and then typed internet speed in the browser, and you can see the result in the below screenshot.

The average internet speed in India is quite good compared to developed countries, like the USA, Canada, and Australia.

India has made significant progress in terms of internet speed and has now overtaken many countries as we have access to 5G and are working on 6G technology.

How the slow internet speed can affect our personal and professional lives?

Slow internet speed can greatly affect our personal and professional life. Due to this, it can have many negative effects on our personal and professional life.

If your internet speed is slow, then you will have difficulty making video calls, sending messages, and being active on social media, and your entertainment will be hampered, and you will feel interruption in streaming services.

If you are a student, then your education will be difficult, and your online classes and e-learning will have trouble downloading or streaming due to slow speed.

If you are a businessman, then your business life will be affected, and you will feel a decline in customer service for your businesses. Difficulty in using online tools required for customer service can lead to a decrease in customer satisfaction. And ultimately it can also harm the reputation of your business.

Due to slow speed, you face interruptions in online banking and e-commerce transactions, which can delay financial transactions. This can reduce customer confidence.

Thus, slow internet speed not only affects the quality of personal life, but also has a significant negative impact on your business efficiency and customer satisfaction.

In your opinion, what steps can be taken to improve internet speed and accessibility in your country?

If you want to improve your internet speed and access, then I would suggest you do the following:

First let us talk about how to increase our mobile internet speed

You should restart your phone because restarting the phone resets the network settings, which can improve the internet speed.

You should update your apps and software and update these apps and software regularly. You will see that your updates improve your internet performance, improving the internet speed.

You should clear your phone's memory, cache, and data because it improves internet speed by removing unnecessary data from your phone. This increases the processing speed of your phone.

You should often check your background apps and close them because apps running in the background use data. So by closing them, you will see that your internet speed will increase.

And finally, if nothing works, then reset network settings that bring all the settings back to default, and your internet speed will increase.

Now let's discuss how to improve the speed of our Wi-Fi connection:

For this, you have to change your router settings, for which you can go to its advanced settings and change the channel to improve the speed of Wi-Fi.

The position of the router also matters because if it is not in the right place, the signals will be obstructed and become weak. The closer you are to your router, the more you will see improvement in your internet speed.

Finally, if there is no difference, then you should change your router because if the router is old or damaged, then you cannot get the right speed. Also, keep in mind that you analyze the network status using Wi-Fi analysis and see which channel is working the best. Most internet provider companies provide information about the correct channel on their app.
