Yesterday evening, after a long and tiring day at the office, I decided to treat myself to something sweet. My mind immediately went to one of the most delicious desserts I love to eat - tiramisu. I decided that this would be the perfect way to end my day.

I started the preparation by first checking the recipe that I had saved from the last time I made it myself. The ingredients were simple: biscotti, mascarpone, eggs, sugar, espresso coffee, cocoa and a little amaretto for extra flavor. Although I could have bought ready-made tiramisu from the store, I prefer homemade because I know exactly what ingredients I am using and can add a personal touch to its taste. First, I made the coffee and let it cool. Then I beat the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture is fluffy and light. I added the mascarpone and continued to mix until everything is well mixed. In a separate bowl, I beat the egg whites until stiff and carefully added them to the cream so that its volume does not decrease. While the cream was ready, I dipped the biscotti in the cooled coffee and started to arrange the layers in a glass cup. First a layer of biscotti, then a layer of cream, again biscotti and so on until all the ingredients are used up. I finished with a thick layer of cream and sprinkled it generously with cocoa powder. I put the tiramisu in the refrigerator to let it sit for at least a few hours. When the waiting time was finally up, I took the tiramisu out of the refrigerator. Every bite was a real pleasure for me - soft and creamy, with a rich coffee flavor and a slight hint of amaretto. I sat comfortably on the couch, turned on my favorite movie and enjoyed every bite. The tiramisu was so delicious that I forgot about the fatigue and stress of the day. That evening I realized how important it is sometimes to allow yourself small pleasures that make life sweeter and more enjoyable. And while watching the movie, I felt how peace and satisfaction gradually overcame me. It was one of those evenings in which I experienced delight and happiness, thanks to the simple joys of home cooking and a good tiramisu :)
