Before starting my post I would not like to miss the opportunity to invite some of my Steemian fellows - @sur-riti, @rumanaafroz, @shadow04, and @huraira50. I’m avidly awaiting to see the amazing foods that they enjoy on a specific day.
🍱🥢 Breakfast 🍱🥢
This morning, we all enjoyed breakfast with great fun in the family. Date palm jaggery was served with homemade bread for breakfast. Date palm jaggery is called in our native language Patali Gur which is a traditional and very famous dish in our countryside. The demand for this jaggery is highest during winter as well as throughout the year. Various types of pitha and various types of tea are made with this jaggery. This jaggery was sent from my grandfather's house. I ate it with roti this morning. It tasted and smelled amazing. There was also a cup of cow's milk tea where I used this jaggery instead of sugar.
🍛 Lunch 🍛
For today's lunch item with plain rice, I have a fried vegetable item. This fried vegetable was made with potatoes and cauliflower. Along with this, I had another delicious curry which was made with rui fish, potatoes, cauliflower, tomatoes, and dried lentil dumplings. These dried lentil dumplings are made with a variety of lentils, wax groud, and various other spices. These dried lentil dumplings taste
too amazing and all year around they can be eaten with a delicious taste but during winter it is best eaten. The process of preparing these dumplings is very difficult as well as very time-consuming. It is a famous traditional dish of the southern part of Bangladesh and this dish has been popular in our country since a long time.
🥪 Evening Snacks 🥪
This evening's breakfast was Ovaltine cake which is my favorite among the different types of flavored cakes. Along with it was another favorite of mine, Crispy Danish. It was very lightly sweetened which made it
very enjoyable to eat. This is originally brought to our home from the famous bakery shop “Ananda” in old Dhaka. Every food made in this bakery is very delicious and healthy.
🍲 Dinner 🍲
Since it is winter now. So in this cold weather, eating khichuri at night is different. Vegetable khichuri was made for tonight’s dinner. This vegetable khichuri had potatoes, cauliflower, tomatoes, beans, and carrots with polao rice. It was amazing to eat. It was also stuffed with dried chilies. There was also roasted chicken. I think eating khichuri is incomplete if there is no mango pickle with khichuri. So it was accompanied by mango pickles.
