A Nostalgic Visit to My Father's Railway Workshop
My greetings to all. I am sharing some of my nostalgic moments with you.
One of the most cherished persons in the world is our father. As a result, our moments with our father are more mesmerizing and nostalgic. Today I would like to share one of those moments I had with my father.
My father is a retired railway employee. He retired from service in 2022. I was by his side even on the day he retired. He didn't seem agitated or emotional in his moments of leisure. Instead, he welcomed retirement. His humble attitude at such moments, his respect for everyone and his wonderful outgoing personality impressed me greatly.
After his retirement day passed, he visited the workshop several times at the request of his colleagues. One day I also wanted to visit his workshop with him. My father agreed to show me around the workshop. The Railway Workshop is located in the Parbatipur Upazila of Dinajpur District, Bangladesh. This huge railway establishment is known as the Central Locomotive Workshop.
It was an experience I will never forget going to the workshop early that morning with my father. These moments are truly magical that never come back again and again. Our distance from our parents grows a little bit as many of us reach adulthood. However, this period of growing separation is ideal for spending time with parents and learning about their life experiences.
It was a sunny day. The road next to the railway workshop was very beautiful. It is really nice to walk in this shady street. There are several railway monuments in his workshop. These monuments can be considered as symbols of this workshop and Bangladesh Railway itself.
This workshop is one of the most modern railway workshops in Bangladesh. After entering the workshop with my father, I took several pictures in front of a monument. Then I went with him to the main building of the locomotive workshop. I got a rare view of the workshop from the second floor of the main building. From the second floor, it is clear that there are enormous workshops for the complex work of the railways.
My favorite part of the second floor is a section of the corridor where Bougainvillea flowers create a charming atmosphere. My father used to do all the office work in a room on the 2nd floor. There are many sections in the workshop which were not visited today. Because the workshop is huge. It required more time for the visit which I did not have.

This short visit will be memorable for me. It was a wonderful experience to spend time with my father at his workplace. My father was very friendly with everyone in the railway workshop, so even now when he visits the workshop everyone respects him and even invites him to rejoin the work temporarily. It teaches me that people remember and prefer to be around people who are polite.
