"Pick a Word, Paint a Story #12"
Rizwan was a fisherman. He lived in a small village which is near the sea. Every morning Rizwan took his boat and went deep into the water to catch fish. Fishing was only way for him to earn money for his family. He had a wife and a little son. The name of his wife was Amina and son name was Hamza. Rizwan was a poor man but happy. Rizwan had strong faith in Allah Ta'ala. Rizwan always believed that no matter how hard life became, Allah would never let him alone.
One evening, Rizwan went to the sea as daily. There were no more clouds in the sky. He put his net in sea and waited. Few hours passed but he caught no fish. He said to himself, " it is not my day." But Rizwan did not lose his hope. He beg to Allah, "Beloved Allah Almighty, undoubtedly you are the best. Please help me in this hard time."
Suddenly, there come dark clouds and covered the sky. The wind became very strong, and the waves started to rise. Rizwan knew that a storm was coming. He pull out his net from sea quickly, but his boat started shaking. The storm become more stronger. Rain fell down heavily and the sea became wild. His small boat tossed like a leaf in the water.
In the home, Amina and Hamza waited for him. Storm had reached the shore. All the villagers went back to their homes. Amina was at the door, he was looking at the sea. Rizwan's wife beg to Allah Almighty for mercy.
Rizwan tried best to control boat but the waves were much strong. A big wave hit the boat and he fell into the sea. The sea was dark and deep. He tried to swim but the waves pushed him down. He said to himself, it was the end of his life.
Then he remembered something about his faith and said to himself, "Allah never leaves His creature." He closed his eyes and wish to Allah with deep heart. Suddenly, he felt something, his hand touched a wooden plank from his boat. He held it tightly. The waves pushed him again, but he held tightly. The storm then began to subside. The moonlight glinted on the sea as the sky cleared.
With the help of the plank, Rizwan floated until he saw the land. He combine his strength and swim towards bank. His legs were weak but his faith was strong. He fell on the sand as soon as he arrived at the beach.
Morning came and the villagers found him. Amina and Hamza ran to him with tears in their eyes. Hamza cried I loudly Baba, Baba. "Alhamdulillah! You are alive!" Amina said. Rizwan smiled and looked at the sky. He said "Allah never leaves us."
From that day, Rizwan's faith became more stronger. He continued fishing, but he always remembered that no matter how strong the storm, faith is stronger. Faith gives light in the darkest moments. Faith gives hope when all seems lost. And faith always leads to the shore, no matter how deep the sea.
