Forgiveness

Now I will be giving the meaning and definition of forgiveness from two different perspective.

First, forgiveness can be seen as the process whereby you you ask to be forgiven for something wrong that you have done.

Also forgiveness can be seen as the process which involves personal intention of letting go of the wrong thing which a person did that made you angry or sad

A true act of forgiveness

When discussing the true act of forgiveness, it doesn't simply involve merely saying you are forgiven to someone; rather, it encompasses much more in various aspects and ways.

A genuine act of forgiveness is the act of letting go after you have expressed that you have forgiven someone who has wronged you. It involves permanently removing such anger from your heart and being at peace with the person who offended you.

I have observed many people who will say that you are forgiven, but deep down, whenever they see the person who offended them, they frown and cannot even manage a genuine smile.

Even if they do smile, it will be a fake smile or, should I say, a smile to impress, but deep down in their hearts, their feelings for that person are tainted.

As Christians and true followers of Christ, we should not behave in such a manner because, as the Bible says, God is love, and we should love our neighbors as ourselves.

Therefore, we should always strive to forgive and forget the wrongs a person has done to us because, to me, that is the true act of forgiveness (forgive and forget).
