Greetings everyone!
Bangladesh is a riverine country. The Bay of Bengal is located in the southern part of Bangladesh. That is why the main food of people of Bangladesh is fish. The fishermen of this country collect the fish and sell it in the market and dry it to preserve the fish. Today I will present to you how the fish or marine fish are dried and processed in the coastal areas of our country. As you must have guessed from my cover photo, this is actually a huge fish drying factory. It is the largest fish drying area in Bangladesh.
Depending on the size and type of fish, they are dried in different ways. Sea eel, shuri This species of fish is cut from tail to head and hung vertically on bamboo to dry. Once these fish are dried, there is no further effort required. In the morning, it has to be shaken once in the hot sun and picked up again in the evening. Such fishes take three to four days to dry.
Some houses are built and long lofts are built on the beach to store fish. These tall bamboo lofts on the seashore are built so that the fish can be dried here quickly. There is no special way to dry them. Relatively small fish are spread on this platform. The fish begin to dry in the hot sun on the beach. Besides, the people who are in charge of supervising them turn the fish back and forth twice a day so that they can be dried from both sides. Most of the time poa, roopchanda fish are dried here. After drying the fishes are taken in bamboo baskets and weighed for marketing.

Once dried, the fish are marketed directly. Different fish are sold in different ways. Some fish are sold as dried pieces, some dried by weight.
