Sweet jellof rice |
---|
In my post today I will tell you about the little sweet jellof rice that I cooked on Tuesday with using a very simple steps and with little amount of money, so kindly read to the end, thank you.
I will start by listing out the ingredients I used in preparing the rice down here.
The ingredients |
---|
Ingredients
- Rice
- Sachet tomato
- Onions
- Bonga fish
- Pepper
- Salt to taste
- Seasoning cube
- Curry leaf for flavor
- Crayfish
- Vegetable oil
- Spices
I will now go down into the simplest method I used in preparing it.
Method of preparation
Step One
I poured my raw rice into the cooking pot, added water and placed it on fire to boil for about 10-15minutes, after it was boiled, I removed it and washed by using a shifter.

Step Two
The next thing I did was to place my empty pot on fire then added vegetable oil, allowed it to get hot for like 2minutes, then I added my sliced onions into the hot oil.
Frying the onions |
---|
Step Three
I fried the onions and allowed it to get brown for like 1 minutes, then I added the sachet tomatoes into the pot and stir it very well till it dissolved.

Step Four
When the tomatoes was well fried and got dried, I then added my other ingredients into the pot, which are, pepper, Maggi, spices and my Bonga fish before adding the quantity of water I needed to it and stir it well so that everything will mix very well.
After putting all the ingredients to fry |

Step Five
After putting all the necessary ingredients and the water, I allowed it to boiled for 1 minutes then I poured in the parboiled rice into the pot and stir it very well so that all the ingredients will mixed well.

Covering the pot for it to cook well |
---|
Step Six
Then I covered the pot and allowed it to cook for about 20-25 minutes, within that 25minutes my jellof rice was done and ready to be eaten, so I dished out the portion I wanted to eat and set aside to get cool.

I used cucumber to garnished my rice in substitution for salad, so that I can enjoy my food very well.
