Hello Beautiful people of this #hindwhale community, it's a pleasure for me to take part in this food diary contest. Don't forget that your favorite girl @missyleo doesn't joke with anything that has to do with food, so kindly sit tight and see what I have for you this night. Introduction
I will be showing you how to prepare porridge plantain (unripe), and I will also tell you about the few health benefits of unripe plantain to the human body.
Health benefits of unripe plantain
Unripe plantains offer a good range of health benefits, which are, being rich in nutrients like vitamins C and A, potassium, and fiber for aiding digestion.
Plantain also contain antioxidants that fight free radicals, the fiber content in plantain reduces cholesterol level which helps to reduce the risk of developing any heart disease, and lastly unripe plantain is extremely low in fat and salt.
Preparation Stages
I will list down the ingredients I used in preparing the porridge plantain down before I start the cooking properly.
All the ingredients

- Plantain
- Periwinkle
- Scent leaf
- Crayfish
- Fresh pepper
- Red oil
- Stock cube (Maggi)
- Onions
I started by preparing all my ingredients and setting them aside before I can proceed with the cooking proper. Normally that's the pattern I usually used during any of my cooking process.
I washed and peel the plantain into the cooking pot then I sliced them into tiny pieces.

After I was done slicing them into the tiny pieces in the cooking pot, then I placed the pot on the cooker, added water to the quantity I needed, I covered the pot and allowed it to boil for about 5minutes.
After 5 minutes I then started adding the other ingredients one after the other into the cooking pot.

After putting all the ingredients, I stirred everything well in the pot, covered it well and allowed it to Cook for about 5 to 10 minutes before I then pour in the red oil.

After I have put oil, I stirred the food so that the oil will mixed well with the food, then I also added the sliced scent leaves that I have sliced and kept aside.
I allowed it to steam for about 5 minutes before I turned of the cooker and my porridge plantain is fully ready to be consumed.

I dished out some portion that I will eat while I package and preserved some in the freezer for another day.
