BABY NICOLE's DEDICATION DAY
Good day steemians!
Today let me share to you the dedication day of one of the new member of our church.
Last April, a cute baby was born. She is a daughter of our church drummer. They named the baby as Sofia Nicole. During conception of Melisa, the wife of our church drummer who is also an active member of the church, she has a major problem and her OB adviced her that she will do the CS operation. She has hypertension and at the same time anemic. She is confused as to what to eat. But after 9 months of conceiving the kid, everything went well. She was able to deliver the baby normally and without complications. God is really so great and a great Healer.
To make the story short, the couple decided to dedicate their daughter to God this month. In Catholic, they call it baptism, but in our church we will not baptize a kid, we will just dedicate it to God. We will do the baptism if they will be the to decide to be baptized not because the parents wanted it.
The dedication happened right after the church fellowship. Our host pastor let the parents as well as the kids to come to the altar. Then the host pastor will call the godparents one by one and should come up to the altar also.
If everyone was already in front, the pastor will read a passage and will let the godparents know their responsibilities as a 2nd parents of the lovely kid. Afterwards, praying of the kid will happen after.
While everyone is praying, the pianist will play a worship song. After praying, the godparents will be given a chance to carry the baby.
Afterwards, we went to their house and had our sumptous lunch.
