Summer has started here, and the temperature has started to rise. The sun is very hot in the morning. The day before yesterday, I woke up at 5:30 am. After waking up, I cleaned the surroundings and watered the plants. Then I went upstairs and did some walking and exercise. The day before yesterday, Saturday, was a holiday for my son, so there was no busy work in the morning.
My daughter had to go to "Sri Ranganathar Engineering College" in Coimbatore to write an eligibility exam, so I had to take her from the hostel to write the exam. So, I, my son and my husband first went to the hostel and left to pick her up. After freshening up, I prepared breakfast. For breakfast, I had prepared chapati, potato mash, and a gravy with green gram. After eating breakfast, the three of us left.
The college where I had to write the exam was located in Thondamuthur village in Coimbatore. I had to travel through a village road for about 40 kilometers. There were coconut groves, jackfruit groves, and banana groves all along the way. They were very beautiful to look at. I took photos of them as I admired them, and I am sharing some of them here.
This is a testament to the fact that agriculture is thriving here. The trees in the grove were a beautiful sight to see. Since there are Western Ghats forests nearby, wild elephants come in large numbers. Since they come to agricultural lands and damage crops, the farmers here have built electric fences around their lands.
While visiting the villages, I saw a house that looked very beautiful, with vines hanging over its gate, making it look even more beautiful. Similarly, there was an old woman who had been farming and was carrying the crops and hay for her cattle on her head. I saw that and took a photo.
After about half an hour of driving, we stopped at a tea shop on the way to refresh ourselves. We ordered lemon tea and ordered and ate some popsicles and biscuits to go with it. The lemon tea was very tasty and different, and it showed the identity of the village.
The exam was supposed to start at 2 pm, but the rules said that the report should be made at 1:30 pm. We reached the college before that. Then, after checking my daughter's hall ticket and confirming the hall where she would be writing her exam according to her roll number, they checked my daughter's ID cards and sent her inside.
Since she had to write the exam for two and a half hours, we waited on campus. The entire campus was covered with trees and plants, and the location was beautiful. We took pictures of all of them. There was a tree there, half red and half green, which looked different. I don't know its name, but it was beautiful to look at. I stood there and took a picture.
My daughter came back after writing the exam for two hours; she said it was very easy; she said she expected to score almost 80%; I was very happy. Then we took her and dropped her at the hostel and came home. After reaching home, it was very hot, so I took curd from the fridge, added chillies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, and salt to it, and mixed it. I put it in a grinder and ground it to make buttermilk. Then we all got to know that creamy buttermilk. This drink was very cold for the soup.
After that, we sat and relaxed for a while and watched some comedy shows on TV and enjoyed it. After that, I started cooking food. For the evening meal, I had made rice rice, chutney with fenugreek seeds, and egg bhurji. The food was very tasty.
Yesterday was a great day. I thank God for this wonderful day. I hope you enjoyed this diary. Please post your comments.
