A Day in Alanya - Beach, Flavors and Discoveries

001.jpg

Hello everyone. 🤗 I'm continuing to share the memories of our Antalya holiday with you. Today's post starts at our favorite beach. This beach in Alanya is beautiful. I spent the day there with my sister and we went to the sea. First, we went to have breakfast. What’s great about this place is that it has a play area for kids. This allows us to comfortably enjoy breakfast and work. The place is called Enberi and it’s located on the beach. The view is amazing and the place is very lovely. Their menu is quite extensive with different options.

After breakfast we continued our exploration. We arrived in Gazipaşa. The view was incredible... the mountains, beach and nature were magnificent. The sea was very warm and clear. There were very few people on the beach, which created a peaceful atmosphere. The water was very clean and clear, with the bottom visible.

There are different beaches and cafes here. Some beaches are free, while others offer services like sunbeds for a fee. However, it’s generally not crowded. Many beautiful beaches can be discovered around Alanya. The trip that day was fantastic. It was so enjoyable to explore the beaches and see these places.

We had lunch here. There was a dish served with classic French fries. It was something like a sandwich or toast. And grilled peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and kebab skewers were prepared. My sister had ordered when she saw the presentation of the toasts. They really looked delicious.

I should also mention the presentations in Turkish cuisine. Usually, alongside the main dish, extras like salad, sauce, garnish and rice are served. It’s also quite suitable for kids. It's possible to create a filling meal with just one plate.

Then, we went to the Mahmutlar area, looking for a suitcase. The street we walked on was called Barbaros. It was quite lively, filled with stores and markets. First, we checked out a few shops. There are large stores here where everything from home and kitchen needs to technology can be found. My daughter picked a small suitcase with us. We didn’t want to carry too much. We have a stroller and we wanted to be practical. After picking our suitcase, we completed our shopping.

Let’s not forget to mention my daughter’s excitement about traveling. For her, travel is not just a holiday, but also a short getaway from school. 😄

I love my sister's house because it shows photos and videos of your child's daily activities. Even while sitting at home, you can see what your child is doing and what they are drawing. This is really a wonderful app.

The next day, we went out with our daughter to have something sweet. We didn’t feel like having a meal, but after our daughter had her fill, we wanted to enjoy some dessert. We went to a Chocolate Café-style place in the city. It had been a while since we last had dessert here. The interior was lovely. The desserts, drinks and the overall atmosphere were really enjoyable. We tried the San Sebastian cheesecake and macarons. It’s a true heaven for dessert lovers, especially when combined with a cold latte and chocolate-based sweets. It really brings happiness.

My daughter’s macaroon plate was very diverse: raspberry, lemon, banana, blood orange, chocolate and pistachio. She loved these flavors and it was a really fun experience for kids.

Around 10 pm, we took a walk towards Alanya Beach and explored the tourist shops nearby. This area is close to Cleopatra Beach, one of Alanya’s most famous beaches.

The shops are quite touristy, selling both branded and unbranded bags, but we prefer not to shop in such stores. We love to visit places like bazaars because we can find many interesting and unique things there. In the evenings, this area is full of tourists and the restaurants are quite crowded. Not only tourists but also locals spend time in these places. There are really amazing restaurants in some places in Turkey and the food is delicious.

Another thing to be cautious about when walking around Alanya is the traffic. Even on pedestrian crossings, where pedestrians have the right of way, vehicles usually don’t stop. Some drivers have made this a habit, so it's very important to be extra careful. Pedestrians on crosswalks are sometimes ignored by vehicles, which can lead to accidents.

We love walking in Alanya because there’s always a new discovery around every corner.
