Contest: Online Purchase Vs In-store Purchase

Greetings to you my beloved friends. How are you guys doing today? Trusting God y'all doing good? I'm fine too. It's been a bright weekend for me.

I don't know why I've been smiling the moment I came across this contest. Perhaps, I guess it's because of the so many funny experiences I've had with online vendors in the past. Guys, just chill as I gist you on some of my funny but not so funny experiences I've got with online shopping.

Which is more convenient for you: online shopping or shopping in-store?

Truth be told, the world is going global. Most stuffs are being traded online. Virtually everything you need can be gotten online except of course, you can't order for a baby online (lol😀).

For me, shopping online is most convenient for me cos aside the time saving for me, it always saves me the money I ought to spend going from store to store looking for what I need. Online shopping means less stress for me.

For some time now, I've stopped shopping online due to some nasty experiences I had with some online stores. One was a very prominent store here in my country Nigeria. Usually, I always choose the option of payment on delivery. Sometimes last year, after shoping and ordering for a particular electronic home appliance, I was notified after a week that my item was ready at their pickup station.

Getting their pickup station, I opted to use my debit card which has been my normal mode of payment but I was told there are no services for debit cards. It sounded so unusual for me though but I was given the option of making transfer from my bank account. I was given the account details. I inputed the details and requested the desk officer to confirm details on account which he did.

Payment was successful but friends, guess what? They claimed the money didn't drop at their end. Had to go to my back to collect bank statement to be sure the transfer was successful but these guys kept denying the money wasn't in their account. The bank adviced I go the the court and get some documents and all that. The whole process was so demanding that I had to forfeit everything. It was so sad actually.

Second scenario was with another vendor. My item was well packaged and sealed. I picked it up without any doubt but getting home, I realized the item had some physical damages. I took some pictures and fowarded to them, requesting for a replacement. They told me they can't take back what I've opened myself. I was so pissed that day.

Do you think online shopping offers better deals and discounts than in-store purchases?

No. I think in-store purchases offers better deals and discounts than Online shopping. Even the black Friday's that most online vendors put up, the prices are still higher than in-store. Most online prices are usually enticing but believe me, terms and conditions are always attached to such. There are certain products why there are promos for them but you hardly see online vendors advertising such promos or giving you details why the promo is there.

Which one offers best customer service: online stores or physical stores?

Anytime, any day, I feel physical stores offers the best customer service. This is because there is always a physical form of communication between the two parties. There is always an expression of feelings and emotions and the customer officer will understand better what you need or what your complains are. He/she will be able to better address and handle the issue at hand.
