IF DECEMBER WERE A PERSON
She would be serene and brisk
Jaunty but full of 'tsks
Her humor would be dry
as her skin, as her breath
picking up leaves in for a moment
and settling into ironic dust

Serene and somber
yet her jacket draws wonders
what a colorful blunder
when did this transpire
one looks and admire
until she makes a joke
she remains as dull as an old pier
Though cake and chicken prop her agile
But then she sings
less jokes, more trills
her feet tap, bells ring
In awe the previous months behold
December croaks as much as she roars
Then her frosty, dusty feet
Are tucked in sublime retreat
She entreats into her tasty treats,
Into her embroidered jackets and croaked fits
Before we least expect it, December launches into the sky,
With a colorful array of sparkling spry.
