Culture shock

a little that I want to tell here, about my surprise with the foreign culture that is so amazing.

I am one of the nurses who graduated to work abroad, more precisely in (Saudi Arabia). Graduating to work in a clinic abroad is a proud thing in my opinion, but the time has come for me to go there and with the important files that I bring, I will be ready physically and mentally with all situations. but that was just my initial thought.

it turned out that after I was there I was quite surprised by the truly extraordinary culture. I was presented with a gahwa drink (Saudi coffee). gahwa is a traditional drink of the Saudi people with natural spices that they make themselves. not only that, I was also served rice in a very large portion, called maghlubah rice.

in the first and second weeks I still found it difficult to adapt to the situation there, this tongue was still unfamiliar with various foods.

there I was more often alone and cried, just because I missed my family. I miss my mother, I miss my mother's sweet nagging every time I did something wrong. I miss the environment and all the food in Indonesia. This is me, a human with a thousand longings and a crybaby of course.

from here I understand the meaning of family, a piece of time to be together, a million longings for distance. I understand more that family is everything above all.

as time goes by I am also surprised by the language style of the people there, they speak loudly and clearly, I thought was it a fight like Indonesians do? but it turns out that again and again I was wrong, they do talk like that.

Then, slowly I have many friends and they really care about Indonesian citizens. they are friends and like to share, like typical foods or snacks, until finally I was made to like and fall in love with Saudi food. maghlubah rice, kabsa rice, kunafa snacks, sambosa and Saudi tea, gahwa and many more.
