* Smile

You may smile more often when your heart is just happy. But in truth, smiling and happiness have a two-way relationship. You can still try to smile to provoke a sense of happiness in yourself. Don't forget to start the day with a smile, as soon as you wake up in the morning.

* Routine exercise

Physical activity is not only for maintaining physical health, but also helps reduce stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression. Routine exercise is associated with increased self-esteem and happiness.
We don't need to exercise strenuously to get the benefits. You can start regularly walking around the complex, taking classes such as yoga classes, and stretching while you go to sleep.

* Get enough sleep

Getting enough rest is vital for your physical, brain and psychological health. Make sure you get 7-9 hours of sleep each day. To make it easier for yourself to fall asleep, make sure the room is clean, quiet, and dark. Don't forget to get in the habit of sleeping and waking up at the same time to avoid oversleeping.

* Consume healthy foods

Paying attention to the intake of nutritious and nutritious foods is also an important way to live a happy life. Certain nutrients have even been linked to good psychological conditions, such as:
Carbs that release serotonin, the happiness hormone
High protein foods that release dopamine and norepinephrine, compounds that work to increase concentration
Conversely, foods that have been through a long process of processing and fried foods also tend to make the mood worse.

* Give praise to others

Giving sincere compliments is a quick and easy way to make you happier, as well as having a fun day for the person you're praising. Focus on the qualities that a person has and not focus too much on their physical appearance. These compliments, for example:
"I love your smile that transmits happiness to others."
"You inspire me to be better."

* Don't get lost in solitude

Basically, humans are social creatures. While some people may consider themselves introverted individuals, there are times when we still need one or two people to share and chat with.
If possible, you can also try to keep pets at home as friends to make your life more colorful. There have been many studies showing the positive effects of raising animals.

* Every now and then, take a break from cellphones and social media

Ignoring smartphones is indeed a difficult thing. There is nothing wrong if you allocate a short time, for example on weekends for an hour, to turn off your cellphone and ignore instant messages. You can fill it up by reading a book, meditating, taking a walk to the park, or simply lying down.

* Create a self-care ritual that best suits you

Life is not easy and many obstacles keep coming. There is nothing wrong for us to create self-care rituals that best suit our own needs.
No need to be complicated and expensive, you can find a simple ritual that raises the mood. For example, by taking a warm shower at night, applying a mask on the weekends while reading a book, to preparing a series of films to be watched on Saturday nights.
Whatever your positive rituals are, do them so that you live a happier and more balanced life.

* Allocate time and sustenance for others

Studies have shown that doing good deeds also affects self-happiness. Apart from giving praise, allocate a little of your sustenance and time to give it to others. You can donate to a trusted institution, feed animals on the streets, or volunteer at a foundation that you are interested in.

* Accept the reality when bitter moments approach

It may sound “cruel”, but life is not always filled with sweet moments. When experiencing a sad event, accept that condition that you are truly sad and grieving.
Let yourself be sad with an unpleasant incident. Then, think of ways that are most likely to help you to recover quickly. No need to pretend to be happy when you are grieving.
