DRUGS AND YOUR SELF-IMAGE
Your self-image is one of the most important factors of your success; it's the way you perceive yourself, let me ask you a question:
If you perceive yourself as a lazy, unproductive, and weak person, will you be able to succeed?
I don't think so, that's why your self-image is so important because whoever perceives himself as a failure can never succeed except after changing his beliefs about himself.
Drugs have the worst impact on your self-image; because even if no one gets to see this addicted version of us; we can always see this side very clearly.
It doesn't matter what you share with people, what you pretend to be, or what you reveal about yourself, deep inside you know the most about yourself, and it happens that you know the negatives more than you know the positives.
When we hide to take drugs when we steal to buy them, when we trick people or lie to them; all of these actions leave an impact that we can't deny, it makes us despise ourselves, as if we are less than other people who aren't necessarily good people but at least they aren't addicted to drugs.
The first step toward recovery is admitting that we are addicted to drugs, and knowing that there is no shame in this as each and every person alive has his own kind of addiction or a combination of all of them.
The second step is starting to fix our problems instead of always trying to escape from them.
There is plenty of things you can do to fix your self-image; exercise, learn a new language, learn a new skill, get to know new people, contribute to social events, and a million other activity that you can do to get a better self-image.
