Start Small, Grow Bigger, and Blossom
Every big venture today started from a low state, rough path, and so on. Most multinational corporations started off with one or two broke person(s) who defied their present states and decided to run with a goal, starting with several real challenges in form of discouragement, rejection, financial constraints, loans or grants denial, and so on. This is the very point at which a result oriented person needs diligence and determination. You can't afford to lose your focus, especially before the manifestation of your dream.
The way life is designed, it is expected that you will start your endeavour in your capacity, and progressively increase from there. When you become great at what you do, only few people know where you started from, and all the challenges you faced while growing. Most people only desire your results, not your sacrifice, or your pain. This is why many people want to start life big, despising the days of humble beginnings.
The desperation to start out on a big note make people do nasty or cruel things like fraud, robbery, kidnapping, acts of terrorism, ritual killings, and so on. These kinds of affluence really do not last, because it eventually goes back the same way it has come.
I know of a Disc Jockey who seems to just be starting off his career. He decided to get two good speakers and his turntable with a laptop computer and set up in a filling station, playing music all day. He had decided not to be complacent and or complain about the economy while he sits at home waiting for someone to call him for a job. He doesn't have a big platform to show his craft, but he's starting somewhere.
Soon many people will notice him right there and give him jobs to do. Only few of us are seeing him right now but when he becomes much bigger than this, many other people will not know what price he paid for his big status at that time.
Right where you are, start something in the direction of your desired career, be it trading, engineering, sports, music, art, and so on. Sow the seed of diligence today, so that you can reap fruits of abundance in future.
Your efforts today may not bring the expected audience or patronage. It may not even yield the corresponding financial results, but that is the time to build your reputation in building contacts, accountability, and creating an environment of trust around you and your job. Soon, you will expand and your struggles will yield great success. The period of starting small is the period of learning and for building capacity.
