Greetings again my dear friends of this prestigious platform Hive.bolg, we continue with our wonderful journey through the deep sea, and as we have expressed with the firm purpose of getting to know some of the species that live in this aquatic environment, and also to value the essential balance that must exist between all of us as human beings and each of the species found in our environment and especially marine species that often know very little about them.

Therefore my dear friends in this opportunity we will relate in a general way with some characteristics of the marine species commonly known as crab, before going into detail about this species is necessary to highlight the action of man on any living being on this planet, and we know that in many cases such action is not favorable, and thus, damaging the natural development of our precious ecosystem.

In relation to the above, in each of the previous presentations of this thematic series we have highlighted in a general way some technological applications that have allowed us to revert in some way our wrong actions and I think that is what it is about, since we are thinking beings capable of analyzing and correcting any type of anomaly in our behavior, and with which we can say that through each of the tools created by the field of technology we take a step in the search for our much appreciated balance among all the species that inhabit the Earth.

Therefore, my dear friends, each technological application dedicated to marine species allows us to know more about them, and with this, we will begin to describe some of the characteristics of crabs, and of these we can say that they belong to the family of crustaceans, and this type of marine species is in the order of invertebrate crustaceans called decapods because they have 5 pairs of legs.

Crustaceans such as crabs can be found both on the coasts of the seas and in some rivers, therefore, this feature makes them saltwater and freshwater species, although they have 5 pairs of legs as already expressed, We can observe that the two front legs over time have become a pair of claws as observed in the gif at the beginning of this article and which are used to capture their prey, another observed characteristics of crabs is the way they move as they usually do it sideways or sideways.

Sea crabs can have a large number of colors on their shells and this colorful feature will depend on the effect of the water where they are, and as for their preferred natural habitat are the coasts because they are not good swimmers, this aspect allows them to alternate between the sand of the beaches and the water, in the water crabs move along the seabed and on the surface some of them can climb palm trees.

In relation to their reproduction we can say that those species of crabs that spend more time in the water use pheromones to attract their partners, as for those crabs that spend more time on land this action of courtship is done by visual movements and also with sounds and for this they implement their pincers as can be seen in the same way in the gif at the beginning of this article, and the time that male crabs use for mating is when the female changes its exoskeleton because under this situation these couples are softer bodily speaking.

Another aspect to highlight is that the females can store for a long time the sperm of the male and wait for the moment she considers appropriate for the fertilization of the eggs, and once these eggs are broken the female releases the small crabs in the water and by this time these newborns are larvae, And as these young crabs grow, they make several changes or molts of their exoskeletons until they reach adulthood, an aspect to highlight in the molting of their exoskeleton is that to do this the crabs consume a large portion of water to swell and get rid of their old shell.

To conclude we can say that crabs feed on some fish, dead animals and other smaller crustaceans and this is done by taking advantage of their strong pincers to cut up their food victims, however, there are also some species of crabs that feed on algae, and also use these pincers to fight between males for the conquest of a female, and although these species are not considered endangered, it is also true that the coasts of the seas and rivers are victims of the great pollution caused by our undue action, this has undoubtedly reduced the population of these wonderful marine species such as crabs, highlighting that their use in the food menu of man also increases the possible risk of extinction.

Until another opportunity my dear readers, we continue with our purpose of getting to know some of our wonderful marine species and as you could notice this time we did it with the beautiful and striking crab of which we got to know some of its particular characteristics.

hello friend @rbalzan79, very interesting article that you share with all of us in this opportunity; it is incredible how extensive in species that can become the ocean and more wonderful the characteristics that each species has, as you have highlighted this time of the crab, which has the ability to be in great depths and then found in a palm tree on the surface.

thank you for bringing to us such detailed information my friend.

Hello dear friend, the marine world brings together many beautiful and vital species for the proper balance of our precious environment, many successes. Best regards.
