STRESS AND ITS IMPACT ON HUMAN BEHAVIOR

in Project HOPElast year

Human behavior is undoubtedly delimited by different social aspects that compromise our actions in a society as demanding as the one we live in today and where stereotypes mark the behavior of people.

So it is these stereotypes that cause behaviors and feelings of stress that in many cases compromise our well-being. Therefore, stress is an important topic in human behavior and has been the subject of research in various disciplines, such as psychology, sociology and medicine. In general, stress refers to the physiological and psychological response of the body to situations that are perceived as threatening or challenging.

By analyzing the above definition, we realize that the same social system leads us to live on absurd loads of stress and all product of being prisoners and trying to assume lifestyles that in many cases we can not even afford, consequently because of the daily stress, we are constantly releasing a number of hormones, Among them, cortisol and adrenaline, which are a preamble that allows us to prepare the body for moments of real action, so that their concentrations cause an increase in heart rate, blood pressure and breathing, and can also affect mood and cognition.

In this sense, stress can have negative effects on people's health and well-being if experienced too frequently or too intensely. It can contribute to the development of chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes, and can also affect cognitive and emotional function. We can also see that high levels of stress lead us to make erroneous or risky decisions that threaten our well-being, affecting our ability to concentrate and at the same time the retention of new learning or experiences.

At this point, it is valid to ask ourselves how to deal with stress, if it is an aspect that is usually part of our daily life? So to answer this question, we must be aware of how important it is to recognize the effects of stress on human behavior and find effective ways to manage it, so that we can maintain good health and emotional well-being and for this we can include relaxation techniques, regular exercise, therapy and other strategies that help reduce the intensity of stress and increase emotional resilience.

We should also keep in mind that stress is a normal response of the body to situations that are perceived as threatening or challenging, and can be beneficial in some situations, such as when you need to be alert and focused to make quick decisions or respond to an emergency. However, when experienced persistently it often leads to a state of chronic stress, which contributes to the development of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and mental disorders such as anxiety and depression. It can also affect cognitive and emotional function, which can manifest itself in symptoms such as difficulty concentrating and remembering information, irritability and mood swings.

In addition, stress can also affect interpersonal relationships. People who experience chronic stress may have difficulty maintaining healthy relationships, as they may be irritable or anxious and have difficulty communicating effectively.

It is important to keep in mind that stress is a subjective experience and what may be stressful for one person may not be stressful for another. Therefore, it is important to find effective stress management strategies that are personalized and tailored to individual needs.
