We must assume the consequences of our economic decisions

Hello Project HOPE friends, I hope you are all doing well. A while ago I began to reflect on our financial decisions, and although it may sound like a heavy topic, I realized something that we often overlook: we are always making decisions, even when we think we are not.

It's as if every day you choose between two paths, and the funny thing is that, even if you don't choose, you are already choosing. That inertia, that lack of action also has consequences, and I see it more and more clearly.

For example, there is the typical case of buying something because it is on sale, even if you don't really need it. At the time it seems like a good decision, but then when you see it piling up in a corner, you realize it wasn't such a good idea. But of course, that's where our ability to justify it comes in: "It was an offer", "I'll use it at some point", "I didn't spend that much". And so we convince ourselves that our decisions don't have as much weight as they really do.

Another example that always makes me think is the issue of debt. I have known people who live trapped in a constant cycle of loans and minimum payments. It is something I understand, because sometimes circumstances lead us to that, but I also know that in many cases it is related to a lack of planning or wanting to live a lifestyle that we cannot maintain. And I'm not judging, because we have all made decisions that we later regret, but what I think is important is learning to accept those consequences, not as a punishment, but as an opportunity to change course.

In the end, it seems to me that it all comes down to being honest with ourselves. We can't always control everything that happens around us, but we can decide how to react to it. If we make an economic decision and it doesn't turn out as we expected, the worst thing we can do is blame the system, fate or someone else. Sure, there are external factors, but there are also internal choices, and therein lies our responsibility. Because if we do not accept these consequences, it is very easy to fall into a cycle of victimization that takes us nowhere.

And well, as always, this is just a reflection. I would like to know what you think about it. How do you face the consequences of your economic decisions?

I think much more than us assuming the consequences of our economic decision, we should also always hold the government responsible for any wrong economic decisions because they are more in it
