Financial management is an economic determinant Opinion

in Project HOPElast year

A big hello Project Hope friends, I hope this week that begins will be very productive for everyone. I would like to address a topic that I have just discussed with someone, and it is based on what so many struggle for, money. I know that much can be said about this, logically, but I would like to talk based on the approach of "the importance of money management in personal finances".

There are people who earn a lot of money and live practically broke, therefore, we could say that earning a lot of money is not necessarily the solution for most people. I particularly know people who earn a lot of money, but at the end of the month they are left with nothing, rather with debts. Which confirms that beyond having great earnings, which is something important in order to achieve financial stability, it is necessary to know how to manage our capital, whether it is a lot or a little.

I think that people focus their attention more on increasing their income than on learning to manage correctly what they generate, and that ends up becoming a big problem, because usually what happens is that they adapt their expenses to their income and that is not right.

I think there is a wrong perception of people who really have money, let me explain. In general we could say that they spend money in a certain level of life, but what we do not see is that what for us is a lot of money, may be for them a very minimal amount.

That is to say, if they can spend 5000 dollars a month eating every day in restaurants, we have to look beyond that. Surely for us that amount is a lot, but most probably for them, who earn 100,000 a month, it is not a big deal, and they value more the time they would save by eating at home, for example.

When we evaluate it that way, we will realize that it is not something we can do. Because if we earn 1000 dollars a month, for example, it would be totally illogical to spend 500 dollars in restaurants.

In Latin America, precisely in Colombia, earning $100 a month is a good amount, considering that most people earn less than $300 a month. Even so, there are people who earn very well, end up spending everything and more, one more reason in my favor to affirm that what really matters is how you manage with what you earn, more than the amount of money you earn.

I would like to know what you think about it, good start of the week to all of you.
