Always Verify Before Acting

You may have seen people who commit the biggest of blunders - when asked why they made such a huge mistake, usually their answer is, "They did not verify the information they got." When you make decisions without verifying, you're simply calling for trouble.

Investors in the markets will tell you that they made their biggest losses, when they got an information of an opportunity, and jumped at it, without doing proper verification of how correct that information is. You have to imbibe the habit of always confirming before acting.

It doesn't matter how reliable you think that your source of information is, make effort to do some further confirmation with your intelligence on the matter, before going ahead to invest money you labored so hard to make. It's not enough to just assume that your source is always correct.

That's why it's important that whatever investment you're doing, you should have good understanding of it, so that people don't just give you any information and you take, without the ability to do your own research. You must be careful of investing in anything that you can't verify by yourself.

This principle of always verifying information, applies to many other aspects of life. When you hear a rumor, don't be so quick to conclude that it's true. If you're going to act or make any decision based on the rumor you heard - ensure that you verify that information before taking any actions.
