The donations from the cryptocurrency industry, has reached a record of $94 million. These donations are made to political committees that operate at federal level. Currently, the donations made, have exceeded the $83 million of 2020 United States elections.
Political Action Committees (PACs) contributes the majority of these political donations. These PACs gather donations from their members, and make the funds available for the purpose of campaigning for their favorite candidates or campaigning against unfavorable candidates.
Fairshake is one of the most prominent PACs, and is popularly referred to as Super PAC Fairshake. Fairshake has been able to raise more than $85 million to campaign for their favorite candidate, who prioritizes blockchain technology and the adoption of cryptocurrency.
Popular names in the cryptocurrency industry have made donations to Super PAC Fairshake, such as Ben Horowitz and Marc Andreessen, who have both donated $9 million each to Fairshake; and Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, who donated $1 million.
